Jim Hackney 1947 - 2024

The entire Heritage family and friends of Heritage worldwide are grieving the passing of our founding pastor, Jim Hackney. Jim was diagnosed with cancer in February and peacefully passed away four weeks later, on March 24th. His loving wife, Sue, was by his side as he finished his race.

Jim began preaching for our church family in 1979 when we were meeting at a different location under a different name (Midtown Church of Christ). Throughout his 45 years of service to our church, Jim constantly exhibited a servant's heart and was known as a pastor to people, which was part of what made his preaching so effective. Jim taught us to embrace the marvelous grace of Jesus Christ.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to Heritage Church of Christ in Jim's honor.
